So Smithers briefly posted a little scoop and took it down for some reason. I don't know why, because it's big news that's being ignored. While the regular news outlets are reporting on Ford's funeral for days like there's nothing else going on in the world, this little tidbit has escaped attention. Along with 'why do you hate America?' a favorite right-wing non-sequitir that gets thrown out is 'you're not supporting the troops if you don't support the war.' By this reasoning, it looks like our own troops don't support themselves. Of course this would require such a stretch of cognitive dissonance on the part of said right-wingers that their brains would probably explode, which must be why the news has remained on the down-low.
The results ran counter to much of the conventional wisdom -- barely one in three service members approve of the way the president is handling the war; a majority believe it was wrong to go into Iraq in the first place; and a plurality reject the notion of sending additional troops into the war.
