Looks like I've been tagged by Eclectchick. Normally I hate chain mails and the like, but the blog-o-tags I find interesting, more personal, and less virus-like. Plus the I'm not threatened with the end of the world if I don't tag 20 people in the next 48 hours.
If you could have any one — and only one — bike in the world, what would it be? My Fort Cross.Max.
Do you already have that coveted dream bike? If so, is it everything you hoped it would be? If not, are you working toward getting it? If you’re not working toward getting it, why not? I'm very happy with my Cross.Max. Maybe some spiffy wheels, but no, I'm not working toward that because the engine needs more work than the bike! The sexiness factor was more than I hoped it would be - that orangish yellow looks awesome with the black components, and it rides well on the road for the "only one" requirement above.
If you had to choose one — and only one — bike route to do every day for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why? No question - Leif Ericson drive in Portland, up Germantown, back on Skyline and back down through Washington Park. That route has it all: a scenic (double entendre intended) cyclocross-able fast trail that's an awesome workout, 800 feet of elevation gain at least, gorgeous Skyline drive, and a fast descent through an awesome park, arriving at the best coffee shops and brew pubs anywhere. Seriously, what else do you need?!?!
What kind of sick person would force another person to ride one and only one bike ride for the rest of her / his life? Puppetji, as the funny, tongue-in-cheek representative of non-attachment.
Do you ride both road and mountain bikes? If both, which do you prefer and why? If only one or the other, why are you so narrowminded? No mountain bikes, but my cyclocross bike gets more mud than the average American mountain bike! It's hard to say which I prefer - depends on my mood!
Have you ever ridden a recumbent? If so, why? If not, describe the circumstances under which you would ride a recumbent? No. Hell freezing over.
Have you ever raced a triathlon? If so, have you also ever tried strangling yourself with dental floss? No. I will be doing a duathlon soon.
Suppose you were forced to either give up ice cream or bicycles for the rest of your life. Which would you give up, and why? Ice cream. I don't eat it very often anyway.
What is a question you think this questionnaire should have asked, but has not? Campy or Shimano? You can tell a lot about a cyclist from that question...
You’re riding your bike in the wilderness (if you’re a roadie, you’re on a road, but otherwise the surroundings are quite wilderness-like) and you see a bear. The bear sees you. What do you do? Wave hai while mentally finding religion.
I tag: Sha-sha, T3, ErikV, S1.
