Dunked but undaunted, Tilford wins KLM 'cross

From VeloNews. Steve Tilford, who was duking it out with Bjorn and Doug at Jingle Cross all weekend, managed to win in Kansas City this weekend in spite of falling into a frozen lake. Temperatures were in the low 20s and there was a stiff north wind. I remember Steve from when I was first getting into cycling in the late 80s. At 46, he's more than twice the age of Bjorn and other whippersnappers, but scored the win despite frozen cables that prevented him from shifting or braking. For that he's my hero of the day.
