But why?!?!

It seems people are finally coming to their senses and realizing they've been duped about the war in Iraq. There were never any WMDs, Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11, Iraq wasn't (until now) a big breeding ground for terrorists, etc. etc. blah blah blah. So that being the case, why hasn't anyone (except one woman with more balls than most men) started asking why Bush started this war in the first place? Why would he purposely send thousands to their deaths, bankrupt the country and destroy our credibility with the rest of the world? Why? All of the given reasons have turned out to be wrong, so what's the real reason? It baffles me and I can't even come up with a crazy conspiracy theory.
